Scalloped Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small cabbage, quartered and shredded
    salt and pepper
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 c. finely cut celery
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Shred a quartered small cabbage as for coarse cole slaw.
    Cook quickly in covered pan with a little water to keep from burning. Cook just until tender-crisp, 5 to 15 minutes for green or white cabbage.
    Drain thoroughly; season with salt and pepper.
    Put butter and celery in saucepan.
    Cook slowly 5 minutes.
    Stir in flour; blend.
    Stir in 1 cup milk slowly.
    Cook until thick.
    Stir constantly for about 5 minutes.
    Season to taste.
    Add cabbage. Spoon into baking pan (13 x 9-inch).
    Cover with crumbs; dot with butter.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 until well heated and browned on top. Serves 4 or 5.
