Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 finely chopped small onion (optional)
1 beaten egg
3/4 c. milk

Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients, stirring lightly.
Drop a teaspoon of batter for each hush puppy into 360\u00b0 hot deep fat, frying only a few at a time.
Fry until golden brown.
Drain on paper towel.
Makes 2 dozen.
