Grannie'S Icebox Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    3 1/2 c. flour
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
    1 c. pecan pieces
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Add sugar, eggs and vanilla.
    Sift together flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar.
    Add to butter mixture.
    Add pecans.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Press and mold into a long, smooth roll, about 2 1/2-inches in diameter.
    Wrap in waxed paper, twisting ends.
    Chill in refrigerator overnight.
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Cut in 1/4-inch slices.
    Place a little apart on ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
