Company Pickle Chunks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 cucumbers
    8 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. mixed whole spices
Preparation
    Cover cucumbers (unpeeled) with boiling water.
    Let stand 24 hours; pour off.
    Repeat 3 times.
    On the 5th day, pour off water and slice the cukes in 1/2-inch slices.
    Bring to boil vinegar, sugar, salt and spices.
    Pour over slices and let stand 2 days. Bring all to a boil and seal in jars.
    An excellent sweet pickle.
