Lady Baltimore Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. lemon extract
    2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. water
    6 stiffly beaten egg whites
Preparation
    Stir shortening to soften.
    Gradually add sugar and cream together until light and fluffy.
    Add extracts and egg yolks. Sift flour; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk and water, beginning and ending with flour.
    Beat after each addition. Fold in egg whites.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
