Dr. Bird Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour, unsifted
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. vegetable oil*
    3 eggs*
    1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. firm, ripe bananas, diced
    1/2 to 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour 9 or 10-inch tube pan. Do not use electric mixer.
