Beef Bourguignon(Beef Burgundy) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. lean stewing beef, cut into 2-inch cubes
    1 Tbsp. olive oil or cooking oil
    1 whole large carrot
    1 whole large onion
    2 cloves mashed garlic
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    crumbled bay leaf
    1 Tbsp. catsup
    2 to 3 c. brown beef stock or broth
    3 c. full-bodied red wine
Preparation
    Dredge beef cubes in flour and brown in oil.
    Remove meat and wipe Dutch oven clean.
    Return meat to Dutch oven and add carrot, onion, garlic, thyme, bay leaf, catsup, beef stock and red wine. Put Dutch oven in oven and bake at 325\u00b0 for about 3 hours.
