Scalloped Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
    1 c. shredded American cheese
    1 onion, peeled and sliced
    1 can cream of mushroom
    1 can mushrooms, drained
    salt and pepper (optional)
Preparation
    In 1 1/2-quart casserole dish, layer the following:
    On bottom line casserole with one layer of potatoes, followed by a layer of onions; sprinkle cheese and sliced mushrooms on top of onions; spread 1/2 of can of mushroom on layers.
    Repeat layers until ingredients are used.
    In conventional oven, cook at 325\u00b0
    for 40 minutes.
