Beer, Steak And Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 strips bacon, diced
    1 lb. sirloin, sliced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 lb. fresh mushrooms
    1/4 c. butter
    1/4 c. flour
    1 c. consomme
    1/2 c. beer
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. thyme, ground
    1 Tbsp. parsley, minced
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    Saute bacon in a heavy skillet until crisp.
    Remove bacon. Brown meat in bacon fat.
    Remove.
    Saute mushrooms in fat. Remove.
    Melt butter; add flour.
    Slowly add consomme and beer, stirring until thick.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Simmer for 1 hour; add more beer if thinner sauce is desired.
    Serve over wide noodles or rice.
