Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. salt
    4 c. vinegar
    6 c. water
    3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. mixed pickling spices to each jar (qt.)
    beets
Preparation
    Heat salt, vinegar, water and sugar to a boil and pour over beets in each jar.
    Keep vinegar mixture hot while canning.
