Corn Meal Griddle Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    boiling water
    4 level Tbsp. flour
    2/3 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    3 level tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Scald meal with enough boiling water to cover it.
    Let stand 5 minutes, then add flour and salt.
    Thin to a batter with beaten egg and milk.
    Add baking powder last, beating it in well.
    Cook at once on hot, well-greased griddle.
    Serves 4 to 6.
