Borsch (Vegetable Beef Soup)(Ukranian) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb stew beef, cut up in to small sizes
    6 medium red potatoes
    1 small head cabbage
    5 green onions
    1 beet
    1/2 glass tomato juice
    1/2 pkg shredded carrots
    vegetable oil
    sour cream
    salt
Preparation
    Peel beet and cook it with beef stew meat in a medium size pot. Fill 3/4 of pot with water. Cook on high until it boils. Then reduce to medium to low heat and cook for 1 hour. During this hour peel potatoes and cut into cubes. Shred cabbage.
