Sweet-Sour Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head cabbage
    1 large onion, diced
    1 can tomatoes, diced
    1 can water (hot)
    1 apple (optional), diced
    2 or 3 tsp. butter or oleo
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    salt to taste
    3 tsp. butter
    3 tsp. flour
Preparation
    Shred cabbage and dice onion.
    Pour boiling water over cabbage and onion.
    Let stand 20 minutes.
    Drain.
    Add water, tomatoes, butter and apple.
    Cook until tender.
    Add vinegar, sugar and salt.
    Make a roux.
