Date-Nut-Chocolate Chip Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. chopped dates
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. soda
3/4 c. oleo
1 1/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. chocolate chips

Preparation

Put dates and soda in bowl; pour boiling water over and let cool. Cream oleo, sugar and eggs. Add flour, salt and soda; mix. Add the date mixture slowly, mixing well. Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Mix the nuts, sugar and chocolate chips. Sprinkle over top of pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
