Cottage Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. shortening
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; mix well.
    Add egg and vanilla; beat until fluffy.
    Sift dry ingredients together; add to mixture alternately with milk.
    Mix well after each addition.
    Bake in greased and floured 8-inch square pan at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
