Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, torn into small pieces
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    several small green onions, chopped
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 small pkg. frozen peas (unthawed and uncooked)
    8 crisp bacon slices, broken up
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 c. sugar
    1 (4 oz.) pkg. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Layer in a 9 x 13-inch pan as listed.
    Make ahead of time. Refrigerate until served.
