Tamale Pie (Mexican) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. ground beef
2 cans stewed tomatoes
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
10 (6-inch) tortillas
3 c. Monterey Jack or Co-Jack cheese
1 can ripe olives, sliced
Preparation

In a skillet, brown ground beef. Drain. Add tomatoes, onions and spices. Simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Arrange 5 tortillas in bottom of a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish, tearing tortillas as needed. Cover with half of meat mixture, then half of cheese. Repeat layers, using remaining tortillas, meat mixture and cheese. Sprinkle with olives. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until heated through. Let stand a few minutes before serving. Yields 8 servings.
