Gingerbread Kids - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. dark molasses
    1/4 c. water
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. ground ginger
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. ground allspice
    2 1/2 c. flour
    raisins or currants (for decorating)
Preparation
    Beat sugar, shortening, molasses and water in a large bowl on low speed until blended. Beat on medium speed for 1 minute. Stir in remaining ingredients except raisins. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, 1 or 2 hours.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Roll dough on a floured cloth until 1/4-inch thick. Cut with 5 to 8-inch cutters.
    Bake on ungreased sheet for 8 to 10 minutes.
