Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. water
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 1/2 c. rolled oats
Preparation
    Cook together raisins and water until about 5 tablespoons liquid remains; drain.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix together shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Stir in the cooled liquid and vanilla.
    Sift together and stir in flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Stir in rolled oats and the cooked raisins.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
    Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375\u00b0.
    Makes 4 to 5 dozen (2-inch) cookies.
