Creamy White Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. sour cream
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. walnuts, coarsely chopped
Preparation
    Combine sugar, sour cream, corn syrup, salt and butter in 2-quart saucepan.
    Stir over moderate heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils.
    Cover and cook slowly 5 minutes.
    Uncover and boil rapidly to soft ball stage 236\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Let stand until cold; add vanilla and beat until candy loses its gloss and begins to hold shape.
    Stir in walnuts and turn into an oiled pan.
    Cut in squares when set.
    Makes 2 1/4 pounds.
