Lemon Walnut Tea Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1-1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
2/3 c. walnuts, chopped
1 Tbsp. lemon rind, grated
Preparation

In large bowl cream sugar and shortening.
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Combine flour and baking powder.
Beat into creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
Stir in walnuts and lemon rind.
Spoon into greased 8-1/2 x 4-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch loaf pan.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 55-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cool in pan 10 minutes.
Remove to cooling rack to cool completely. Drizzle with lemon icing and sprinkle with additional walnuts.
