Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    pinch of salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 1/3 c. pecans
    2/3 c. pecan halves to decorate
Preparation
    In large pan, combine first 4 ingredients.
    Cook over high heat 5 minutes.
    Stir frequently.
    Add butter and 2 1/3 cups pecans.
    Cook until this forms a soft ball in cool water.
    Remove from heat.
    Cool slightly, then beat until creamy.
    Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper.
    Decorate with pecan halves.
