Mom'S Date Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 oz. dates
1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. water
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 1/4 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. margarine or butter
Preparation

Combine and cook first 3 ingredients over moderate heat until slightly thick.
Combine and blend remaining ingredients.
Press half of mixture into 8 x 8-inch pan.
Spread with date mixture; and cover with remaining mixture.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Cool and sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
