Ingredients

4 c. white flour
2 c. whole wheat flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. shelled pinons
1 3/4 c. shortening
Preparation

Blend shortening and sugar until fluffy.
In another bowl, mix rest of dry ingredients.
Add to sugar mixture.
Add water gradually until nonsticky dough is formed.
Add pinons.
Roll out on lightly floured board until 1/2-inch thick.
Cut into fancy shapes.
Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Bake in 375\u00b0 oven until brown.
