Flan - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    1 can sweetened condensed milk (do not use filled dairy blend)
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    In a heavy saucepan, cook the sugar until it caramelizes.
    Pour into a two-quart mold; swirl to cover the bottom and sides (be careful or you will get a bad burn!)
    Set aside.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix the eggs in a bowl; add condensed milk, milk and vanilla.
    Pour the mixture into the caramelized pan; cover.
    Set the pan into a larger pan in the oven; cover and pour hot water into the outer pan to reach two-thirds of the way up on the side of the mold.
    Bake 1 hour.
    Remove from the oven; let cool to room temperature.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    To serve, run a knife around the edge of the mold; invert the mold onto a plate.
    Serves eight.
