Smooth Pumpkin Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    1 2/3 c. egg nog
    1 unbaked pie shell (9-inch) with fluted edge
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Combine ingredients in order given and pour into pie shell.
    Bake 15 minutes, then reduce temperature of oven to 350\u00b0 and bake additional 45 minutes or until knife inserted near center of pie comes out clean.
    Cool and garnish with whipped topping (if desired).
