Canned Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 c. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. water
    6 lb. tart apples, cut up
Preparation
    In a large pot, cook and stir together sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and water until bubbly.
    Add lemon juice. Pack apples in quart jars.
    Fill with hot syrup.
    Seal.
    Process in boiling water for 20 minutes.
    One-quart of pie filling per 9-inch pastry crust.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
