Easy Homemade Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 1/2-6 1/2 cups unbleached flour
    2 pkgs. yeast
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 cup shortening
    2 1/4 cups very hot tap water
    cooking oil
Preparation
    Mix undissolved yeast with 2 cups flour, sugar, salt, shortening, then very hot tap water.
    Beat 2 minutes at medium speed, add 1 more cup flour, beat until thick and elastic.
    Add as much more flour as you can and beat with mixer.
    When dough becomes too stiff to use mixer, add flour gradually and mix with spoon. Put dough on countertop and knead until smooth (5-10 minutes). Cover and leave on countertop and let rise for 30 minutes.
    Divide dough in half and squeeze all the air out of the dough.
    Place in greased bread pans, cover, let rise 45 minutes or until bread reaches the top of pan.
    Bake 400 degrees about 20 minutes.
