Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. round steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
    4 medium potatoes
    4 carrots, cut into 1-inch chunks
    1 to 2 stalks celery, cut into 1-inch chunks
    2 medium onions, quartered and separated
    1 qt. V-8 juice
    1 envelope dry onion soup mix
    2 Tbsp. barley (uncooked)
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Brown beef.
    Place in roaster with all other ingredients. Cover.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 4 hours.
    Can also be placed in crock-pot on low for 8 hours.
    May also add corn, peas and green beans, if desired.
