Bavarian Chocolate Pie - cooking recipe

9-inch baked pie shell
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1 2/3 c. milk, divided
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
2 Tbsp. butter
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. chilled whipping cream
Preparation

Prepare pie shell; cool.
In saucepan, sprinkle gelatin over 1 cup milk; let stand 2 minutes to soften.
Combine sugar and cocoa; add to mixture in saucepan.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
Remove from heat; add butter and stir until melted.
Blend in remaining 2/3 cup milk and vanilla. Cool.
Chill until mixture begins to set, stirring.
Beat cream until stiff; carefully fold into chocolate mixture.
Pour into pie shell.
Chill until set.
