Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cake layers, baked from packaged mix
    2 (4 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding mix
    2 large cans strawberry pie filling
    2 (6 oz.) pkg. frozen coconut
    1 large can fruit cocktail, drained
    1 large can pineapple chunks, drained
    1 (8 oz.) container Cool Whip
    1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cool cake layers thoroughly. Prepare pudding mix according to package instructions. Place 1 cake layer in bottom of bowl. Add in layers, half each of the pudding, pie filling, fruit cocktail, pineapple, nuts, coconut and Cool Whip. Top with second layer and repeat layering of remaining ingredients, using some of the cherries, nuts and coconut for garnish. Store in a cool place until ready to serve. Dip through layers.
