Date Balls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (8 oz.) pkg. whole pitted dates, chopped
1/2 c. margarine
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. chopped pecans
2 1/2 c. crisp rice cereal
confectioners sugar
Preparation

Combine dates, margarine, sugar and egg in heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat until thickened and creamy, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in pecans and cereal.
Shape into balls.
Roll in confectioners sugar.
Place on waxed paper. Let stand until cool.
Store in airtight container.
