Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. shredded lettuce
    1 small onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
    2 c. chopped cucumber
    2 c. chopped tomatoes
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. thawed and drained frozen green peas
    shredded cheese
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing
Preparation
    In a 3-quart serving bowl, layer the ingredients, spreading mayonnaise to edges to seal.
    Refrigerate until chilled.
    May be tossed before serving.
