Down South Wilted Lettuce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head loose leaf lettuce
    4 green onions, including tops
    4 slices bacon
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. cider vinegar
Preparation
    Wash the lettuce and thoroughly pat dry (I use terry cloth towels).
    In a large salad bowl, tear lettuce into bite size pieces.
    Clean onions, leaving about 1/3 to 1/2 of upper greens. Chop into small pieces and sprinkle over lettuce.
