Sweet-Sour Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    6 c. shredded red cabbage
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tart apples
    1/4 c. wine vinegar
    1/4 c. packed brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Melt margarine in skillet and saute onion until tender.
    Add cabbage, cloves, salt and boiling water.
    Cover tightly and simmer 15 minutes.
    Core, but do not pare, the apples; slice thinly.
    Add to cabbage and simmer 1 hour.
    Add more water, if necessary.
    Stir in vinegar and brown sugar.
    Simmer 15 minutes longer.
    Can use Sugar Twin brown sugar for diabetic.
