Washboards - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. white sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. hot water
8 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Stir soda mixture in first 4 ingredients.
Sift together and add the flour, baking powder and salt.
Mix in chocolate chips, nuts and coconut.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400\u00b0.
Makes about 10 dozen cookies.
