Meringue - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. water
    1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. almond extract
Preparation
    Cook ingredients to thread stage (232\u00b0).
    Gradually pour this over 2 stiffly beaten egg whites, beating constantly.
    Continue beating until mixture holds stiff peaks.
    Add 1/4 teaspoon almond extract.
