Red Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. red beans
    1/2 lb. pork or ham
    1 sprig thyme, parsley and celery
    1/4 c. canned tomatoes
    8 c. water
    1 medium sized onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1 firm plantain
Preparation
    Wash beans and soak overnight.
    Boil for 2 hours in water which beans are soaked.
    Add all ingredients except plantain.
    Add plantain after beans are soft.
    Add dumplings and cook 10 minutes longer.
