Book Club Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate chips
    1/2 c. butter
    3 large eggs
    1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. chopped pecans
    12 caramels (unwrapped)
    1 Tbsp. milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Melt 1 cup chocolate and butter in double boiler (or heavy-duty saucepan) over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth. Remove from heat. Mix in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar and baking soda. Add flour mixture to chocolate mixture a little at a time. Spread batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining chocolate and pecans. Bake at 350\u00b0 about 30 minutes.
