Sylvia'S Old Fashioned Pound Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour, unsifted
4 eggs
1 c. milk
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. flavoring (vanilla, lemon or almond)
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients together in separate bowl. Cream the butter and Crisco. Add eggs, then add milk. Alternate milk mixture with dry mixture. Add flavoring.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Place in cold oven. Bake at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 (ovens vary) for 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes until straw inserted in middle comes out clean.
