Oatmeal Refrigerator Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 c. flour
3 c. oatmeal
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugars together.
Add eggs and vanilla. Sift soda, salt and flour together and add to first mixture.
Add oatmeal and nuts.
Roll in wax paper and chill overnight or for several hours.
Slice and bake at 375\u00b0 until brown.
