Fish Chowder(An Oldie) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. halibut
4 to 5 slices salt pork
    2 good sized onions, minced
    3 potatoes
    milk
Preparation
Fry out salt pork until crisp.
    Remove from pan.
Add minced onions to drippings and saute until golden brown.
Meantime, start halibut in cold water (just enough to cover, plus a pinch of salt).
    Simmer until fish turns white.
    Don't overcook.
When onions are ready, add potatoes (in cubes) and the water from fish. Flake fish; add to potatoes and onions and bring just to a boil. Add as much milk as you desire.
Add salt and pepper and bring just to the boiling point, but do not boil.
Best make ahead, even day before serving; of course, reheat.
