English Toffee Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. almonds or walnuts, ground or finely chopped
    1 lb. butter (use real butter)
    2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cold water
    6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Melt butter in heavy saucepan over high heat.
    Add sugar and stir until dissolved, then add water.
    Continue cooking over high heat for 10 minutes or until mixture starts to change color.
    Stir constantly with a wooden spoon.
    At color turn, add 2 cups of nuts. Cook about 5 minutes.
    Butter may separate; remove from heat and mix until consistency returns.
    Pour into large buttered cookie sheet; spread to make thin.
    Cool.
    Melt chips.
    Spread 1/2 mixture over cooled candy and dust with 1/2 nuts.
    Turn pan over and do the same.
    Break into bite size pieces after dry.
