Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. fresh cornmeal
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. sugar
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1 egg, beaten
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    In
    a
    medium
    bowl,
    combine all dry ingredients.
    Add onion, egg
    and milk.
    Mix well.
    In a deep fat fryer, heat 4 inches
    of oil until hot.
    Fry hush puppies, a few at a time, until golden brown, turning once.
    Drain on paper towels.
