New England Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. bacon
    1 onion, chopped
    3 potatoes
    whole milk or half and half
    2 to 3 cans (medium or large) clams
    1 Tbsp. butter
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Cut up bacon in pieces; fry.
    Fry or brown 1/2 chopped onion. Cut up potatoes into squares; boil. Discard water. Add whole milk or half and half to cover the potatoes. Add clams. Add bacon and chopped onions, butter, salt and pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.
