Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 Tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, beaten
pinch of salt
2 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in egg.
Add milk in which the baking soda has been dissolved.
Put in the vanilla, salt and flour; mix well.
If dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. Chill for 1 hour.
Roll to 1/4-inch thickness.
Dust cookie roller with flour or powdered sugar.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until slightly brown, in a 350\u00b0 oven.
Makes 2 dozen cookies.
