Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
3/4 c. margarine, softened
2 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 (6 oz.) pkg. solid chocolate mint candy wafers
60 walnut halves or pieces
Preparation

In a large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, margarine, water, vanilla and eggs.
Blend well.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off.
In medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
Mix well.
Add to sugar mixture.
Mix at low speed until well blended.
Cover with plastic wrap.
Refrigerate at least 2 hours for easier handling.
Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Using about 1 tablespoon of dough, press dough around each candy wafer to cover completely.
Place 2-inches apart on cookie sheet.
Top with walnut.
Bake for 7 to 9 minutes.
Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
Makes 5 dozen cookies.
