Texas Spring Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head lettuce
    1/2 pkg. fresh spinach
    3 finely chopped stalks celery
    1 finely chopped bell pepper
    scallions or 1 sweet onion, chopped
    1 pkg. frozen peas (do not thaw or cook)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    Swiss cheese, cut in strips
    6 slices cooked bacon
    Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Layer half of salad ingredients.
    Sprinkle half sugar and cheeses over top.
    Using a teaspoon, cover with dabs of mayonnaise (use half of 1 cup).
    Layer again.
    Sprinkle remaining sugar and cheeses; again, cover with rest of mayonnaise.
    Cover tightly. Refrigerate 6 to 8 hours.
    Don't toss until ready to serve, then add crumbled bacon.
