Savory Cheese Potatoes - cooking recipe

6 medium potatoes, cut in long strips 1/4-inch thick
3 c. boiling water
2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. finely cut onion
2 Tbsp. melted butter or other shortening
3 Tbsp.flour
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. sage
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 c. Pet milk
3/4 c. grated American cheese
Preparation
-
Cut potatoes.
Put boiling water and salt in saucepan; add potatoes, cover and boil 15 minutes or until tender.
Drain and save 3/4 cup drained water.
