Sherried Chicken - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 whole chicken breasts, cut in half
salt and pepper
1/4 c. melted butter or margarine
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 c. sherry
1/2 c. sliced water chestnuts
1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
1/4 tsp. thyme
Preparation

Sprinkle chicken breasts with salt and pepper; brown slowly in butter.
Place chicken in 8 x 12-inch baking dish.
Add soup to drippings.
Slowly add sherry and stir until smooth.
Add remaining ingredients and heat to boiling.
Pour over chicken. Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Uncover; cook 25 additional minutes or until tender.
Serve over rice.
